School Choice – Kristin Mink’s Attacks Result in Renewed Support for School Choice Benefits

Increasingly the benefits of school choice programs and funding like vouchers and Educational Scholarship Accounts (ESA’s) are being proven across the United States. Yet, under pressure from the Teachers’ Unions, Maryland continues their fight to retain the monopoly they own in a failing and increasingly activist public school system. Many on the FCPS BOE (members Rose, Gallagher, and Yoho, for example) have also indicated their unwavering opposition to school choice.

In the last few weeks, Montgomery County Delegate Kristin Minks has attacked groups and revealed intolerance for anyone that disagrees with her. She revealed the nature of the ever-increasing expansion of the “Whole Child” development approach in public schools that has pushed social and emotional learning programs into activism and ideological development and goes against what most parents want in their schools.

Now CleanSlatemoco, a non-partisan group in Montgomery County, has joined the growing community of Marylanders that want choices for their children’s education and make a case for the benefits of school choice. Read their article here.
