GLSEN, the Same Group That Liz Barrett and the BOE Worked With To Install Policy 443, Calls for Teachers To Violate State Laws Banning Sexually Explicit Books

The Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network (GLSEN), a nationally known organization focused on affirming LGBTQ youth, has a “Rainbow Library” program that provides “LGBTQ+ affirming K-12 text sets” and is established in 5,800 schools and libraries across 31 states. GLSEN advises teachers that they should defy their state laws that prohibit sexually explicit books in the classroom and still apply for the “Rainbow Library” program, according to an organization document (LGBTQ Activist Org encourages Teachers, Librarians to Violate State Laws) “We have sent hundreds of Rainbow Library sets to schools in states and districts with unconstitutional, discriminatory anti-LGBTQ book censorship policies, and have heard countless stories of the positive impacts these books have for students.”

Stay close to what your children are experiencing in school and realize that this is a group the FCPS BOE has decided is a good organization to partner with while they continue to introduce non-biological gender choices and refuse to rescind their prohibition on parental notification.
